Furthermore, it incorporates the world’s first*2 personalization technology, DTAS. By scanning your body with the app and creating sound tailored to your individual shape, you can directly experience ultra-high quality playback.

A completely new experience with the new personalization technology “DTAS”
The new personalization technology “DTAS” delivers more than just dramatic sound reproduction. It delivers a completely new sensation that cannot be measured by sound quality alone. It dramatically updates your music experience.
Of particular note is the overwhelming sense of reality in the human voice. The human ear evolved to hear the human voice, which is why we focused so relentlessly on reproducing it. Its smoothness and vividness breathe life into all voice-based content, including music, radio, podcasts, anime, and movies.
“I can’t believe my favorite idol’s voice sounds so good…” was one of the many comments heard during the listening session .
Other comments included, “It’s a strange sensation of clarity, despite the complete absence of harsh or noisy sounds,” and “I was amazed by the sense of positioning, as if the vocals were floating right in front of me, and was doubly surprised when I learned that this was due to the correction of the differences in the shape of my left and right ears.”

Triple hybrid noise canceling
The nested housing structure ensures a high level of acoustical airtightness, while a unique inner vent mechanism is used to optimize air pressure.
This physical sound insulation is combined with a feedforward and feedback method to create a triple hybrid system. Furthermore, the headphones use Sony’s dedicated ANC chip “CXD3784″* and a high-performance MEMS microphone from Infineon, and final’s proprietary algorithms have been used to achieve a quiet sound without any sense of oppression. Furthermore, noise canceling
can be set to “Sound Quality Priority” or “ANC Priority” in the app settings. By selecting “Sound Quality Priority” mode, you can enjoy music in a quiet environment without any impact on sound quality.

Equipped with ultra-low distortion driver “f-CORE for DTAS”
We’ve generously incorporated our proprietary distortion-reduction technology, cultivated during the development of our flagship wired model, the A10000.
By integrating the diaphragm and edge using injection molding, we’ve eliminated the need for adhesive, achieving a thoroughly lightweight design and even weight balance. Furthermore, we’ve adopted “air wiring” for the coil extraction, eliminating adhesive and maximizing drive precision.
As a result, as shown in the diagram below, distortion has been dramatically reduced. The reproduction of low frequencies below 200 Hz is particularly astounding. Basslines and kick drums are free of any muffled feeling, and even the subtlest notes of the bass are clearly discernible, resulting in a detailed and overwhelming bass reproduction.

Ambient mode that can be used even in quiet environments
Generally, when using earphones’ ambient mode in a quiet environment like a library, some people have complained that keyboard sounds and footsteps can be distracting. Our unique algorithm reduces the emphasis on certain sounds, making the ambient mode usable even in quiet environments.


Excellent fit and comfortable wear
Large parts such as the battery and circuit board are located on the outside of the housing (the part that protrudes from the ear), making the earpiece as small as possible. This allows for a comfortable fit without any pressure, even for those with small ears.
Furthermore, the earpieces use “FUSION-G,” which combines the flexibility of silicone with the sound-blocking properties of foam. While maintaining high sound-blocking performance, they also offer a comfortable fit that won’t tire you out even after extended use.


Long battery life of up to 9 hours
To achieve ultra-high quality sound, the internal chip performs advanced signal processing. This process requires more power than usual, but by carefully adjusting and optimizing battery control, we have achieved a long battery life of up to 9 hours on the earphones themselves, and up to 27 hours with the charging case.


Fingerprint-resistant grain finish
A grain finish created by layering matte and gloss finishes and creating a finer grain than normal. It is fingerprint and smudge resistant and highly durable.

How DTAS, our proprietary simulation technology, personalizes the sound
The shape of a person’s body – head size, ear shape, shoulder thickness – changes the sound that reaches the ears. Body shapes vary greatly from person to person. However, earphones deliver sound without taking into account the influence of body shape, resulting in different impressions when listening to sound from person to person.
TONALITE is the world’s first* earphones that measure “body individuality” and personalize (adapt to individualize) the sound.

What is DTAS’s sound personalization?
When “natural timbre” is achieved through timbre personalization, even music you’ve listened to countless times can be perceived with subtle sounds and inflections you previously hadn’t noticed, completely transforming the sound you experience. This intrigues you, ignoring the constant question, “What will this piece of music sound like?”
The results of DTAS are like a blank canvas. The colors (timbre) painted on it stand out vividly against the white background, revealing even the most subtle touches.
If the canvas itself were cloudy, the painted lines (sound) would be difficult to see.
Numerous studies have shown that natural timbre is more important than spatial impression when enjoying audio content. For example, the graph below categorizes and counts comments about sound during a playback experiment of virtual reality (VR) content. Even in VR content, where spatial reproduction is often thought to be important, timbre (timbre) was the most dominant, followed by sense of space (sense of space). [1]

Scan your body shape with the app
All you need to do is install the dedicated app “TONALITE” on your smartphone and you’re ready to go. Then, just follow the app’s instructions from the DTAS menu to easily perform scanning, analysis, and even create your own custom tone profile.

What you can do with the TONALITE app
In addition to DTAS settings, the TONALITE app offers a variety of features.
・DTAS Personalization:
Switch between DTAS General (default sound) and Personalized, and fine-tune the timbre coefficients (characteristics of individual timbre recognition). You can also create guest profiles so family and friends can experience DTAS.
・Noise Control:
Freely switch between noise cancellation and ambient (external sound capture). Noise cancellation is fixed to sound quality priority when DTAS Personalized is set.
・10-Band Equalizer:
Finely customize sound quality to your liking.
・Volume Step Optimization
: Divides volume adjustment steps into smaller steps, making it easier to find the optimal volume.
・Touch Control:
Choose the operation pattern that best suits your needs from three presets. You can also disable touch controls.
・Low Latency Mode
: Reduces latency for comfortable video viewing and gameplay.
・Multipoint Connection:
Simultaneously connect to two devices for smooth switching between audio sources.
・Gain Settings
Enhance the maximum volume for playback, even with quiet content.

DTAS opens up a new world of EQ
Conventional earphones did not take into account the influence of individual body shapes, resulting in differences in how sound is perceived when worn by different people. In this situation, using an equalizer to adjust the sound to your preferences required extremely difficult adjustments: correcting for the difference between the earphones’ target curve and the influence of your own body shape while achieving the ideal sound.
final’s research and development team believes that to achieve an “immersive experience” where the sound from earphones is identical to the real world, it is essential to first thoroughly improve the earphones’ physical characteristics and eliminate the influence of body shape. We believe that only after achieving this will we be able to expand the world in which each individual’s preferences can be pursued.
Now, with TONALITE’s “DTAS” technology, we have succeeded in creating a natural sound base that takes into account the influence of body shape. It is precisely because of this foundation that EQ adjustments allow you to experience a completely new world of sound.
In fact, we often hear people say, “I tried adjusting the EQ many times, but ended up not using it much.” However, once you set up DTAS Personalized and operate the EQ, you will be amazed at how, no matter what adjustment you make, it feels as if you are making the adjustment you intended and that it suits your preferences.
Furthermore, even if you found your favorite EQ settings, it was theoretically impossible for someone else to hear the same sound with the same settings due to differences in body shape.
